Job overview
We invite a you to join our committed team of podiatrists, where you be able to thrive within Buckinghamshire`s wound care team. The successful candidate must be self-motivated with excellent organisational skills and will have the opportunity to develop our their skills in complex wound care.
You must have extensive knowledge treating patients with foot wounds and will be required to develop your clinical skills as well as supporting others to develop theirs. This would be via placements or workshops to maintain and advance the staffs wound care knowledge.
You will work within a team of wound care podiatrists, lead by our principal wound care podiatrist and represent the team in the Diabetic Foot Multidisciplinary clinics.
The post holder will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as enthusiasm for contributing to the service provided by this Integrated Trust. Our team meets monthly for staff meetings and clinical reasoning sessions and you would be required to take an active part in these sessions.
There will be opportunity to participate in regular nail surgery sessions.
Main duties of the job
9. The post holder will provide professional and clinical leadership on the strategic development, planning and operational delivery of the podiatry wound care services primary and secondary settings in Buckinghamshire.
10. The post holder will act as a source of expertise with wound care knowledge and skills in the holistic assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with complex wound care conditions.
11. The post holder will deliver evidence-based podiatry interventions and advice that will reduce the need for acute interventions and thereby contribute to the maintenance of patient mobility and independence.
12. The post holder will work closely with the Head of Service, other Podiatry Leads and other HCP’s to ensure the provision of a high quality and equitable service across the County.
13. The post holder will work closely with the Podiatry Leads to develop treatment planning, off-loading and risk prevention in the care of “high-risk” and wound care patients.
14. To work as an effective member of the Podiatry Service, adhering to Service, Trust and HCPC policies, strategies and objectives.

EXPERIENCE
31. Significant post graduate experience and competence of treating a wide range of patients including complex wound care
32. Experience of ESP including x-ray interpretation, MRI
33. Excellent assessment skills to determine treatment plans and discharge pathways
34. Experience of triaging and onward referral
35. IT skills to aid computer entry requirements and e-mail communication
36. Experience of staff management and team development
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
37. BSc (Hons) with Local Anaesthesia Certificate
38. Diploma level Specialist training or equivalent
