We are currently recruiting for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join our Cement and Packed Products Team at Dunbar Cement Plant in Edinburgh as part of the UK and Ireland Cement and Packed division. You will participate in a 3-year graduate scheme, developing decision‑making, presentation, communication and key skills. You will play an important role in keeping UK infrastructure moving and contributing to the successful production of cementitious products. An exciting role where you can see the outputs of your hard work all around you (quite literally).
Responsibilities
* Learn your engineering craft, gaining a detailed understanding of cement engineering, manufacturing and production via a dedicated Tarmac development programme and the CRH international technical programme.
* Contribute to successful continuous plant performance, addressing production and process bottlenecks for improved output, stability and environmental aspects.
* Assist in tracking key process parameters and analyse data to optimise plant performance, making recommendations for modifications.
* Gain knowledge, understanding and practical application of all safety policies, procedures and practices and be active in leading and driving safety standards and improvements.
* Involve in root‑cause analysis to understand the associated costs and business impacts resulting from plant unplanned downtime.
* Develop knowledge and understanding of the integration of new systems into our plant operations.
* While your first 3 years will primarily be based on one plant you will then be expected to gain valuable experience on plants across our UK and Ireland Cluster or participate in an exciting international assignment.

Essential Qualifications
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* Driving licence and ability to travel.
* Willingness to work in different locations across the UK and Ireland (and international assignments in the future).
