We’re looking for an enthusiastic Inside Sales Consultant to help drive sales across our Consumer Brands portfolio within the UK Trade & DIY Business Unit. You’ll manage a portfolio of distributors, retailers, and trade merchants across a variety of channels — including direct, wholesale, and indirect routes to market.
This is a customer-facing role, primarily conducted via phone and email, with occasional field-based support for customer events.

Sales Development
9. Achieve assigned territory sales revenue and distribution targets within the independent retail, wholesale, trade and other customer sectors.
10. Demonstrate expert knowledge of all brands and products sold, using tools such as Boost and product literature.
11. Accountability to achieve/exceed targets set on key selling initiatives set by the business, such as pre-season sales and quarterly sales initiative campaigns.
12. Accountability of gross margin maintenance by monitoring product mix, pricing, discounting and other profit related metrics in the control of the Inside Sales Consultant.
13. Successfully execute NPD launches and achieve distribution targets set by the company.
14. Use relevant data provided by the business to analyse performance and identify opportunities and actions by account.
Customer Relationship Management
15. Accountable to grow assigned list of customers by building relationships with customers over the phone, email, Microsoft Teams and other means to grow sales.
16. Build effective relationships with the internal team (TSMs, Commercial Finance, Sales Support, National Accounts, Sales Effectiveness Team,
17. Align with National and Key Account Manager objectives in relevant accounts to fulfill support and sales requirements.
18. Partner with external Wholesaler Reps remotely to drive sales in indirect customers.
19. Follow and execute the Sherwin-Williams Sales Cycle to ensure effective planning, selling and follow up in every call.
20. Ensure effective use of selling time by using to plan account calls on assigned territories. Ensure that required number of calls per day is adhered to and all information on the system is completed and up to date.
21. Provide category expertise to all customers by using relevant market data and insights to drive category sales.
22. Report promptly competitor activity, market trends, price surveys and new product development in the marketplace to the business when relevant.
23. Participate in relevant trade shows and customer events when needed.
24. Execute training in accounts where necessary to drive customer awareness and confidence.
25. Maintain company records, ensuring confidentiality.
26. When needed, attend induction, meetings, conferences, etc. that may require an overnight stay.
27. Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
28. Keep up to date with the Sherwin-Williams Consumer Brands training modules.
29. Reflect a positive company image to internal colleagues and external customers.
30. Promote a safe working environment adhering to Sherwin-Wiliams Health and Safety policy.
31. Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
Preferred:
32. Relevant business-related degree.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
33. Proven track record of consistently achieving/exceeding sales targets.
34. Strong commercial acumen, active listening, and demonstrable negotiation skills.
35. Ability to build and maintain customer relationships remotely.
36. Self-motivated with excellent time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
37. Must be able to work both independently and effectively as part of a team.
38. Excellent communicator across written, presentation, and verbal types of communication.
39. Ability to display a positive, pro-active and solution led attitude.
40. Able to adapt to evolving market conditions and shifting customer needs.
41. Category expertise and merchandising skills is preferred.
42. Knowledge of the DIY & TRADE industry whilst of benefit is not essential.
43. Experience of selling in a B2B environment is preferred.
Required:
44. Ability to use programs to a proficient level, particularly Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
45. Full, clean driving license.
46. Minimum 2 years’ experience with intermediate analytical excel skills.
47. Proficient with a minimum 2 years’ experience with CRM systems (preferably Salesforce)
