Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food production and safety. This role requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences in a fast-paced restaurant/pub environment.
Duties
* Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in accordance with the menu and standards.
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to food safety regulations.
* Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
* Monitor inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as needed to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team atmosphere that encourages professional growth.
* Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food production schedules, portion control, and quality assurance.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in food production within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
* Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
* In-depth knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen management.
