CAD Technician
to join our growing team in Leeds.
The Role
As a
CAD Technician
, you'll be responsible for the preparation, detailing, and modelling of structures using industry-standard software. Working closely under the guidance of engineers and other technicians, you'll translate engineering briefs into accurate drawings and models that bring our designs to life.
You'll be a key part of the design process, contributing to the successful delivery of projects by applying your technical knowledge, attention to detail, and planning skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare high-quality technical drawings and 3D models using software such as
AutoCAD
,
Revit
,
Tekla
, and other tools
* Interpret and work from engineer's briefs under supervision, ensuring output meets technical and quality standards
* Support the coordination and integration of civil & structural designs with other disciplines
* Plan and manage your tasks to ensure timely delivery, while meeting cost and quality targets
* Work within and contribute to our
Business Management System
, complying with all company procedures and work instructions
* Participate in a collaborative, team-based environment with opportunities to grow into task ownership roles
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and at least one other relevant software (e.g. Tekla, Revit)
* Demonstrable experience in a similar CAD or technician role within a consultancy or contractor setting
* Understanding of structural and/or civil engineering detailing and construction practices
* Ability to work semi-autonomously and deliver work to high technical standards
* Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and a commitment to quality
Desirable:
* Experience with Revit & Temporary Works
* ONC/HNC or equivalent in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering
* Familiarity with UK construction standards and regulations
