Are you a Warehouse operative looking for a bit more from your job? Are you looking to join one of the UK's leading Logistics companies? If the answer is yes, we are looking for someone to join our team working on the British Gypsum contract in Barrow Upon Soar as a Weighbridge Operator.
What you’ll do on a typical day
* To weigh in and out all vehicles, recording both weighs and ensuring there are no variances that are outside the tolerance.
* Comply with all legislative requirements, Company policies and procedures and customer-specific requirements.
* Ensure that all personnel entering site have been inducted using the rapid induct system.
* Check that only authorised vehicles and people enter onto the site. Ensure that all vehicles that enter and exit site are logged.
* Issue site rules to all drivers.
* Ensure the XPO operating areas are compliant with hygiene standards as dictated by the Contract management team – Yard areas, loading areas etc.
* Ensure that appropriate paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
* Ensure that all shipments are despatched on SAP.
* Understand and comply with all relevant Company rules, agreements, policies, procedures and with all relevant legislative requirements and codes of practice.
* Ensure Company business is treated in the strictest confidence and not disclosed to persons outside the Company.
* Act in a professional manner, ensure good working relationships are maintained and promote a good image of the Company at all times.
* Maintain and comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards, to be aware of the Occupational Health & Safety Management System, OHSAS18001 and to appreciate the responsibility you have to adhere to the respective procedures.
* Be aware that the Company operates a Quality Assurance system ISO 9001:2008 and adhere to the respective procedures.
* Ensure a good standard of housekeeping through observance of relevant Company policies and ensure that work areas are secure and locked when unoccupied.
* Where appropriate challenge and determine reasons for presence on site of any unauthorised person.
* Attend any development training as required in compliance with the Company’s commitment to colleagues.
What you need to succeed at XPO
* Previous experience of working in a logistics environment. Approximately 2 years.
* Health & Safety Awareness
* Experience of working with XPO Fleet Management systems
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Good literacy and numeric skills
* Knowledge of relevant XPO systems
* Accurate and Precise
* Able to write clear & detailed reports

Pay, benefits and more
You will be working Mon-Fri on rotating shifts of 04:45 – 13:45 Days, 13:30 – 22:30 Afternoons.
