Responsibilities: Take the lead on designing and developing mechanical components and subsystems for automation projects Ensure mechanical designs align with functional requirements and performance goals Identify and resolve mechanical issues within existing systems to maintain reliability and efficiency Collaborate with electrical, software, and operations teams to integrate and refine system functionality Provide technical guidance and day-to-day support to junior engineers Encourage knowledge sharing and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture Play an active role in improving engineering processes, including design standards, tools, and workflows Support efforts to streamline the development lifecycle and enhance product quality Requirements: 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Proven experience designing and building mechanical systems for automation and handling of small components Familiarity with high-speed automated systems for material transfer Proficient in SolidWorks for mechanical design Desirable Experience: Background in designing durable, high-precision system Experience with rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing Developed low-power automated machines or devices, such as animatronics, vending units, or automation in food/pharmaceutical production LI-PB1
