Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Fosse Way. HMP Fosse Way opened in May 2023. Its state of the art design and facilities offer a secure environment to provide skills and qualifications to the men, enabling them to secure meaningful employment on release with the aim of reducing reoffending rates. The pharmacy is set up within the healthcare department with medication hatches, and you will be working as part of a team of 15 within the pharmacy team.

Hours:
* Monday – Sunday service
* 37.5 hours per week
* 7am – 6pm = Monday – Friday
* 7.30am – 6.30pm weekends
* 1 weekend in 4
* 4 week rolling rota
Salary
This position is full time. You’ll receive an annual salary between £34,428 – £41,658 per annum, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Provide outstanding, patient-centred care by listening to and acting on patient feedback, ensuring care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
* Focus on providing a safe and secure medicines management service; maintain patient medical records to the agreed standard and follow standard operating procedures to a high and orderly standard.
* Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards, including timely administration of medicines and analysis of cost-effective prescribing as defined by our health in justice medicines policy.
* Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to make a real difference.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Up to date with Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
* Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
* General GCSE education or equivalent
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
