Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Sales Manager will be responsible for the sales of Teledyne Marine Vehicles products in the UK, with a primary focus on the UK defense sector. Additional responsibilities may include support in the Middle East, Australia, and other European regions, directly or through distributors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop and expand UK defense sector penetration of Teledyne Marine Vehicles, including Gavia / Osprey / SeaRaptor AUVs, APEX floats, and Slocum gliders.
2. Build and strengthen relationships with existing RN stakeholders.
3. Establish and grow relationships with UK and European Prime Contractors.
4. Maintain an active pipeline in CRM (Salesforce) to exceed sales targets quarterly and annually.
5. Manage proposals, quotes, and RFPs.
6. Lead capture efforts for RFPs.
7. Provide accurate booking forecasts and keep customer and pipeline records current.
8. Understand the benefits and functionalities of Teledyne Marine Vehicles products and their market positioning.
9. Manage channels to ensure full engagement and success.
10. Organize and conduct technical seminars, product presentations, and demonstrations with partners and channels.
11. Stay informed about competitors’ products, strengths, and weaknesses.
12. Develop a strong understanding of market conditions and trends, identify opportunities, and collaborate to capture market share growth.
EDUCATION:
* Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field.
EXPERIENCE:
* At least 10 years of sales or relevant experience.
* Naval experience within UK/NATO, with knowledge and contacts in UK MCM, ASW, METOC, and Hydrographic communities preferred.
SKILLS:
* Strong interpersonal skills; effective communication from entry-level to C-suite.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced international environment.
* Ability to understand technical and maritime issues.
* Experience with government RFP/PQQ/contracting procedures and strategies.
* Experience with Miller Heiman Strategic Selling is desirable.
METRICS:
* Booking and revenue targets.
* Quarterly reports on agents and reps.
* Key account management for UK and NATO markets.
* Timely and accurate booking forecasts.
* Qualitative feedback on market conditions, customer applications, and product ideas.
* Reporting on competitive activity.
