About the Position
A senior Oracle Developer will work within our delivery team of 40 senior developers, focusing on new business requirements and resolving production issues. The role is technical only, with no pressure to move into non‑technical roles.
Responsibilities
* Gain in‑depth technical knowledge of ATCORE systems and existing applications.
* Become a system expert through hands‑on work and collaboration with team members.
* Proactively investigate and implement bug fixes in partnership with development management and other internal teams.
* Collaborate with internal and sub‑contractor teams to communicate technical issues.
* Participate in the software development lifecycle to deliver and validate new features and fixes within required timescales and risk budgets.
* Use travel/systems experience to identify and provide suitable technical solutions.
* Manage development risks and issues in cooperation with the management team.
* Provide leadership and mentoring to other engineering staff.
Qualifications
* 10+ years of programming experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL in large‑scale information systems.
* Minimum Maths or Science degree, or equivalent academic qualifications/experience.
* High standard of programming in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
* Full appreciation of configuration management and issue tracking systems.
* Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to commute to Slough.
Preferred Experience
* Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, Java, and JSON, and willingness to learn new languages and technologies.
* Experience within travel reservation and tour operating systems.
* Experience in software or systems testing.
