Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and logical individual to join our growing business as a Technology Infrastructure Engineer in Bury, UK.
In this role, you will serve as an escalation point for the Service Desk on infrastructure-related incidents and handle daily administration of infrastructure systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform daily server administration tasks.
* Respond to critical incidents and standard service requests.
* Complete technical projects involving server and storage hardware, Active Directory, VMWare vSphere, Windows Server, Veeam, Microsoft Azure, GCP, and Microsoft 365.
* Establish and maintain effective relationships with business users and IT teams.
* Perform routine maintenance such as applying patches and configuration changes.
* Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMWare vSphere environments.
* Manage cloud-based administration and troubleshooting in GCP, Microsoft 365, and Azure.
* Take technical responsibility for small projects assigned by the line manager.
* Assist with larger projects involving IT infrastructure changes.
* Update technical documentation to improve incident resolution efficiency.
Candidate Profile
* Self-motivated with a strong understanding of complex technical environments.
* Effective problem-solving skills and incident resolution capability.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proactive approach to system improvements to enhance performance and reduce incidents.
* Ability to share ideas and suggest improvements.
Required Skills
* Deep knowledge of Active Directory, including Group Policy.
* Experience managing Windows Server environments (2012 R2+).
* Supporting Microsoft 365.
* Administering VMWare vSphere.
* Understanding networking concepts like DNS and DHCP.
* Supporting server and storage hardware, preferably HPE.
* Strong analytical skills for reactive problem-solving.
* Experience working within an ITIL framework.
