Job Description
The Marketing Assistant UK & Ireland role supports the execution of annual brand plans across Santen’s ophthalmology portfolio. Working closely with the UKIE marketing team, the role is critical in ensuring smooth operational delivery of marketing activities, strong budget control, compliant material management, and effective coordination of digital and event activity.
The role provides essential day‑to‑day support to Product Managers and plays a key role in enabling efficient, compliant and high‑quality marketing execution across the UK and Ireland.
What you will do:
* Manage the marketing budget for the UKIE team, including:
o Setting up suppliers
o Raising contracts and purchase orders
o Checking invoices
o Completing monthly reconciliations and accrual reports
o Providing regular budget reporting
* Work closely with Finance and Procurement to ensure accurate and compliant financial processes
* Support Product Managers with Healthcare Professional contracting and end‑of‑year disclosure processes
* Manage promotional materials from approval and referencing in Veeva PromoMats through to maintaining active material lists across the portfolio
* Support delivery of digital marketing content, including email campaigns, SEE website updates and related performance metrics
* Coordinate logistics and support delivery of customer webinars and in‑person events
* Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audit and compliance requirements
* Uphold Santen’s compliance, governance and ethical standards at all times
* Provide general marketing support and assistance on ad‑hoc projects as required by the team.
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role
* 1-2+ years of experience working within a pharmaceutical marketing department or pharmaceutical agency (preferred)
* Exposure to marketing operations, budgeting, or material approval processes
* Experience working with multiple stakeholders across a business environment
* Experience with Veeva PromoMats, OCE, Coupa preferred but not essential
* University Degree or equivalent qualification
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously
* Confident numerical skills with attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple suppliers, purchase orders and budgets effectively
* Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders.
