Operations Manager – Greenleaf

Tamworth

The main purpose of the role:

Lead and manage all service lines delivered from the Tamworth Operations Centre, including Christmas Warehouse and Production and he installation and maintenance of interior and exterior planting. Ensure efficient warehouse and production operations, and accurate exceptional performance standard.

You will develop and manage the production schedule aligned to the build plan, strategically allocating resources and planning capacity to deliver high volumes within tight, fast paced timescales – while maintaining outstanding quality.

The role includes overseeing Health & Safety across two buildings, managing and developing a motivated, well-trained operations team and working closely with Head of Interior to consistently deliver the Greenleaf standard.

Key Tasks of the role:

1. Develop and deliver the annual Strategic Business Plan for the Greenleaf Christmas Operation in collaboration with the Head of Operations.
2. Create and manage production schedules aligned to the build plan, ensuring resources and capacity meet seasonal peaks and deadlines.
3. Monitor build performance, producing regular management reports on progress, challenges and recovery plans.
4. Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant workflows.
5. Maintain accurate inventory records and use automated systems to manage orders and delivery schedules.
6. Forecast and manage stock replenishment cycles to secure timely deliveries.
7. Set and track appropriate KPI’s and performance metrics to ensure build targets are achieved.
8. Plan and coordinate despatch planning to meet delivery windows.
9. Conduct quality audits and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance output and standards.

Responsibilities

10. Lead depot operations overseeing all warehouse, production, and despatch activities to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant operations.
11. To be the nominated H&S representative with overall responsibility and accountability for Health and Safety across all buildings on site;
12. Ensure phs Health, Safety and Wellbeing policies are understood and fully implemented.
13. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations across both buildings
14. Address ALL safety issues, however minor.
15. Promote a “safety first” culture through leading by example, encouraging and learning from the reporting of near misses, and enforcing good safe practice.
16. Investigate actual and potential breaches of Health and Safety requirements, taking appropriate corrective, training or disciplinary action as required.
17. Ensure sufficient resources are made available to give effect to PHS & H&S policy and procedures relevant to their division.
18. Ensure H&S issues are given equal importance alongside operational and financial considerations.
19. Set a personal example.
20. To minimise costs and make sure budgets are not exceeded.
21. Ensure operational readiness to deliver large volumes of products over a short timeframe in a fast-paced environment.
22. Act as site manager conducting daily inspections to ensure the facility is safe, secure, and fully operational, addressing any issues promptly

Skills and Knowledge Required:

23. Proven ability to lead warehouse and production teams in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
24. Strong understanding of build plans, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
25. Expertise in stock control, inventory planning and management.
26. Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
27. Ability to set KPI’s, monitor performance and implement corrective actions.
28. High attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.
29. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, with individuals and groups, both orally and in writing.
30. Commercial awareness and ability to challenge existing practices constructively
31. Creative approach to problem solving.
32. Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management systems
