Join us at the University of Sunderland and be part of a team that’s shaping the future of education. This role offers the chance to make a real impact in a vibrant, supportive environment where innovation and collaboration thrive.
As a Senior Programme Administrator, you’ll play a key part in the successful administration of both on‑campus and off‑campus academic programmes. You’ll contribute to medium‑term planning and help to execute strategies that improve service delivery.
In this fast‑paced, engaging environment, you will model a customer‑focused, agile and professional approach, enhancing the experience of students and stakeholders. Your keen attention to detail, ability to thrive under pressure, and exceptional organisational skills will be essential to your success.
You’ll also manage student academic records from post‑enrolment through to award, supporting a rewarding journey that strengthens the institution’s standing.
Is this you?
You’re the kind of person who brings energy, organisation, and a real eye for detail to everything you do. You love keeping things running smoothly, juggling priorities with confidence, and staying on top of fast‑moving tasks. Accuracy matters to you — especially when managing important data and records — and you take pride in getting things right.
You communicate clearly, positively and professionally, and you enjoy being someone others can rely on for friendly, helpful support. With strong IT skills — including Microsoft Office and student record systems — you’re quick to learn new tools and enjoy finding smarter, more efficient ways of working.
You’re proactive, adaptable, and always open to improving processes and developing your own skills. With a can‑do attitude and a collaborative approach, you’re driven by making a difference and helping students, colleagues and partners have the best experience possible. If this sounds like you, you’ll thrive here.
How you’ll make an impact
Your skills and experience will help us deliver outstanding results for our students, colleagues, and partners. Whether it’s your creativity, technical know‑how, or leadership ability, we value what makes you unique.
You’ll play a key role in strengthening the quality and efficiency of our administrative processes, helping to streamline workflows and ensure information is accurate and accessible. Your commitment to high standards will support strong, reliable academic records and contribute to confident decision‑making across the institution.
Your planning skills will help the team stay responsive and well‑organised during busy periods, while your collaborative and approachable style will enhance working relationships and create a positive experience for those you interact with.
By actively seeking opportunities to improve, and by contributing your professionalism and teamwork, you’ll help drive excellence across both on‑campus and off‑campus provision, supporting the University’s ambition to deliver an outstanding student experience.
