About The Role
The role will involve working on a variety of heritage projects, including remedial repairs, restoration, and conservation of historic brick, stone, and stucco façades, along with complex refurbishment, alteration, and adaptation schemes for listed buildings.
You will work alongside managers and site supervisors on projects, undertaking tasks based on your background and skillset, including:
* All brickwork pointing styles in lime mortar such as weatherstruck, flush, and penny roll. Experience in tuckpointing is preferred but not essential.
* Brickwork restoration including brick replacements, in-situ mortar repairs, sympathetic structural repairs, and selective rebuilding of defective brickwork.
* Stonework restoration, including stone replacements, indent repairs, in-situ mortar repairs, repointing ashlar stonework, profiled stone repairs, and stone carving where necessary.
* Stucco restoration including plain and rusticated stucco repairs and replacement, as well as running new moulded and decorative stucco like cornices, bandings, and window/door surrounds.
* Assisting in condition surveys and reports of historic building fabrics to identify recommended repair scopes.
* Reviewing, understanding, querying where necessary, and implementing works shown on technical drawings and specifications.
