Job Summary
As part of the Patient Experience and Engagement team, the successful candidate will support the Deputy Chief Nurse to deliver key patient experience strategies through senior leadership and accountability for the Patient & Public Involvement & Voice functions (Patient Engagement, Feedback, Health Inequalities and Volunteering). This role drives the Trust’s patient experience and engagement agenda and improves the way people experience care and involvement at NNUH.
Support the implementation of Norfolk & Waveney Hospitals Group strategies and objectives to improve patient experience and involvement.

Main Duties / Responsibilities
* Assume senior leadership for Patient & Public Involvement & Voice functions – Patient Engagement, Feedback, Health Inequalities and Volunteering.
* Lead on embedding a culture of responsiveness, turning listening into action and supporting a range of quality improvement initiatives in partnership with patients, carers, volunteers and staff across NNUH.
* Work with existing Patient and Carer groups across the Trust and community to implement engagement initiatives, identify gaps and develop appropriate responses in collaboration with NNUH Care Groups and the N&W Hospitals Group.
* Collaborate closely with the Head of Patient Experience – PALS & Complaints to triangulate all sources of feedback and support policy, strategy and objectives around all experiences of care.
* Provide leadership and overall senior responsibility for line management of the Patient Engagement & Equalities team and Voluntary Services.
* Lead the national and mandatory patient experience surveys, serve as subject expert for all areas, and produce board‑level papers on progress.
* Support and supervise staff on patient & public involvement & voice matters, fostering innovative staff support and participation.
* Maintain accurate documentation and records of all support and initiatives.
* Assist in planning, implementation, delivery and evaluation of strategies and objectives related to patient experience.
* Drive a culture of responsiveness and embed listening‑to‑action across NNUH and the Norfolk & Waveney communities to ensure equity and inclusion.
* Work with the Deputy Chief Nurse to deliver the Trust’s patient experience strategy and achieve national regulatory standards.

Essential Qualifications
* Educated to degree level with relevant postgraduate professional qualifications.
Essential Experience
* Senior leadership/management experience in a complex acute healthcare organisation.
* Experience of working with patient leaders and groups to co‑design service improvements.
Essential Skills
* Detailed knowledge and understanding of the national agenda for patient & public involvement & voice.
* Good IT skills – experience in use of databases and proficiency with Microsoft packages.
