We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join the kitchen team of a busy hotel operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented chef who is passionate about quality food, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is ready to support the Head Chef in leading a professional kitchen team. The successful candidate will be hands-on, organised, and committed to delivering consistently high standards across all areas of service. The Role: As Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen, helping to ensure smooth service, excellent food quality, and a well-run team. This role requires someone who can lead by example, remain calm under pressure, and step into a leadership role when required. Key Responsibilities: Support the Head Chef with the daily running of the kitchen Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency Supervise and support junior chefs and kitchen staff Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste Maintain excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards Help with menu planning and development Step up to lead the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence Contribute to a positive and productive kitchen culture The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef ready to progress Experience within a hotel or high-volume hospitality environment Strong organisational and leadership skills A hands-on approach with good attention to detail Ability to work well under pressure in a busy service environment Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen compliance A genuine passion for food and hospitality Requirements The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Previous experience as a Sous Chef Experience within a hotel or high-volume hospitality environment Strong organisational and leadership skills A hands-on approach with good attention to detail Ability to work well under pressure in a busy service environment Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen compliance A genuine passion for food and hospitality
