Overview

Clinical Psychologist role at Harmonia Careers, based at Closeburn House School, Dumfriesshire, DG3 5HP. Salary £51,150 - £58,000 pro rata, DOE. Hours: 15 hours per week, 08:30am - 4:30pm (2 days a week). Contract: Permanent, 52 weeks.


The Role

We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join our in-house clinical team at Closeburn House School. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver psychological assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Psychological Practice Ways of Working, guiding your practice within an education setting. You will hold a psychological caseload with support from your designated clinical supervisor and site lead, and contribute to school development, staff training and consultation as required. This post would suit a resilient, creative and enthusiastic individual.

Our Clinical Teams maintain a person-centred, empowering approach with safeguarding at the forefront. We are seeking a Practitioner Psychologist who shares our vision to use innovative approaches to enhance the quality of life and outcomes for pupils.


Location

Closeburn House School, Dumfriesshire, DG3 5HP. Closeburn House School forms part of our Options Autism brand, and is an independent specialist day school for young people aged 11 - 19. Holistic Childcare and Education, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. Education - Options Autism.


Essential Criteria

* Registered with the HCPC
* Doctoral level degree in Clinical/Counselling/Forensic/Educational Psychology (or equivalent if qualified prior to introduction of relevant Doctorate)
* Relevant previous experience in related settings or with related client group
* Experience of effective multi-disciplinary working
* Experience of communicating with/working with families and carers
* Experience of working at different systems within an organisation (service development, group and individual levels)
* Experience of the assessment–plan–do–review model
* Experience of using consultation as a service delivery method
* Competence in core areas of psychological practice (meets HCPC standards)
* Knowledge of client group needs
* Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and neurodiversity
* Ability to develop formulations and inform clinical intervention plans
* Ability to develop and deliver training
* Ability to write coherent clinical records and reports
* Excellent communication skills for complex matters
* Effective IT skills or willingness to learn
* Ability to work with a range of professionals
* Ongoing CPD
* Ability to use evaluation tools to demonstrate and improve service effectiveness
* Ability to make independent clinical decisions when necessary
* Excellent time management and organisation
* Ability to prioritise multiple demands and meet deadlines
* Commitment to the organisation values
* Flexible approach to working environments
* Willingness to travel on company business
* Full driving licence and access to a car


Desirable

* Experience with specific client groups (e.g., neuro-diverse and SEMH) and setting types (schools, residential care)
* Experience providing supervision to others
* Knowledge of current philosophies underpinning services for the client group
* Knowledge of relevant legislation affecting clinical practice and management
* Post-qualification training related to role, service or client group
* Training in evidence-based interventions/approaches
