Our Ofsted-registered residential home, offers support for up to 2 young people, aged between 7 and 17, of all sexes, with suspected mental health trauma, educational, sensory, and complex behavioural difficulties (EBD).
Legacy Youth Care is looking to appoint a Senior Residential Support Worker, who will work in our new residential children's home, based in NE4 postcode.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn, help and shape a new residential children's care home from the ground up, with their voice valued every step of the way, learn from the very experienced leadership team, and work towards becoming a Deputy Manager.

REQUIREMENTS
• The role requires shift work (365 days per year, evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep ins).
• A minimum of NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Residential / Health & Social Care working with children in a residential setting (preferably Level 5 Leadership & Management Qualification in residential childcare or commitment to undertake this when in post).
• At least 1 years’ experience in a supervisory role in residential children's setting.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills with administrative experience in case recording, rota preparation and report writing.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training and a willingness to pursue further training.
• Flexibility to ensure staffing needs are met, including being available to step in when required.
• Comfortable in managing behaviours that challenge, with a commitment to positive, restorative approaches.
• An invincible positive outlook and a "rule-breaking" attitude to tackle complex challenges head-on.
• Experience in leading a staff team.
• Ability to demonstrate excellent childcare practice in their own direct work and able to mentor staff in good practice.
• Clean driving licence and ability to drive with young passengers held for at least 12 months.
• This is a regulated activity and a clear Enhanced DBS for working with children is required. This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and barring Service.
• Right to work in the UK and be aged 21 or over.
