We are currently recruiting for a Water Networks Designer to join our Water Consultancy business. As a Designer, you will provide technical leadership and guidance to a project team focused on delivering pressure management solutions, ensuring accurate and efficient project delivery in terms of quality, time, and budget.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of clean water networks, hydraulics, and pressure management. Good leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential.
About The Team
RPS Water Consulting comprises Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy development for our Water Industry clients. We face industry challenges that require innovation, dedication, and teamwork.
About You
Your role as Water Networks Designer is critical in delivering projects for our Water Industry clients. You will work with a multidisciplinary team on various delivery projects, making a meaningful impact on communities and the water industry.
Your Responsibilities
1. Deliver multiple pressure management schemes, adhering to client standards and project objectives.
2. Provide guidance and support to less experienced colleagues.
3. Follow all responsibilities outlined in the RPS HSE policy.
4. Ensure delivery of project outputs such as feasibility studies, asset performance reviews, reports, and drawings.
5. Manage changes in projects as agreed with the framework manager and client.
6. Act as point of contact for construction contracts if needed.
Skills, Knowledge, And Experience
1. Deep knowledge of clean water networks and pressure management.
2. Experience in modelling or engineering within a consultancy, water company, or regulator.
3. Ability to manage a team and deliver projects meeting client satisfaction, including survey scoping, modelling, verification, analysis, and reporting.
4. Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
5. Experience with network modelling software such as InfoWorks ICM, InfoWorks WS Pro, or SynerGEE, and GIS software like MapInfo, ArcGIS, or QGIS.
Qualifications
1. Degree in a relevant technical subject; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
2. Chartership or working towards it for senior roles.
3. Membership or in the process of applying to professional bodies like IET, InstMC, or CIWEM.
4. Proficiency in MS 365 applications.
