An exciting opportunity for an aspiring Deputy Ward Manager has arisen at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital. The role involves providing nursing support within the 27‑bed mixed‑sex acute Gastroenterology ward.
Overview
The Deputy Ward Manager will work in partnership with the Ward Manager and senior leadership to deliver high‑standard clinical care, support staff development, and ensure a positive patient experience.
About the Role
• Provide clinical, professional and managerial leadership for the ward team. • Deputise for the Ward Manager in their absence. • Secure and assure the highest standards of clinical care with the support of the Matron and Deputy Nurse Director. • Manage clinical and non‑clinical risk reporting to the Ward Manager.
Responsibilities
* Lead clinical nursing practice within the gastroenterology area.
* Ensure the provision of safe, high‑quality patient care.
* Report and manage clinical and non‑clinical risks.
* Deal with queries and complaints from staff, patients and their families.
* Support the development of staff through training and mentoring.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for an experienced registered nurse who is dynamic, possesses strong interpersonal skills and has a passion for delivering excellent care to gastroenterology patients.
