Junior Finance Analyst
Full-Time | Office-Based
Location: Snodland, Kent
Salary: Up to £35,000 DOE
Job Purpose
Alexander Steele are recruiting for a Junior Finance Analyst on behalf of a global manufacturing business. You will support the finance team in monitoring business performance, analysing financial data, and assisting with planning, budgeting, and reporting activities. The role involves providing accurate information to help guide decision‑making and improve overall financial understanding across the business. Working closely with finance colleagues and wider operational teams, the analyst will contribute to regular reviews, performance insights, and continuous improvement of financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with financial analysis, reporting, and monthly performance reviews.
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring data is accurate and aligned with business objectives.
* Work with finance colleagues and stakeholders to help understand operational performance and provide financial insight.
* Help track performance against budgets, targets, and forecasts.
* Maintain accurate financial data, ensuring reports are clear, well‑organised, and delivered on time.
* Support the improvement and documentation of financial processes and controls.
* Assist with statutory and management reporting requirements, including preparation of schedules and supporting information.
* Provide analytical support to help identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
* Support compliance with financial policies, standards, and internal controls.
* Assist with audit preparation, regulatory submissions, and basic tax‑related information (e.g., VAT, corporation tax inputs).
* Support finance projects and undertake additional tasks as needed to help meet team objectives.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential
* Strong numerical ability with good analytical skills.
* Confident using Microsoft Excel and general IT applications (e.g., Word, Outlook).
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise work, and meet deadlines.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team.
* Degree or studies in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
* Previous experience or placement within a finance or accounting environment.
* Interest in developing towards a professional qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
* Experience using ERP or financial systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
* Competence with spreadsheets, formulas, or basic financial modelling.
