We are working with a happy, caring, and inclusive primary school in Hertfordshire that is seeking an exceptional SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team this September. The school prides itself on creating a warm, stimulating environment with high expectations for behaviour and kindness. In this role, you will work primarily within a specialist base unit, supporting two wonderful Year 3 pupils—one with autism and one with global developmental delay. Your day will involve working both within the base and occasionally in mainstream classes, offering tailored support to meet the pupils’ individual needs.
The role includes:
• Supporting pupils with complex needs and behavioural challenges.
• Providing intimate care where necessary.
• Utilising strategies such as Makaton, bucket time, and sensory approaches.
• Being a calm, patient, and positive presence in a small, nurturing environment.
Requirements
What we’re looking for:
• Previous experience supporting children with SEN.
• Knowledge of communication and behaviour support strategies.
• A caring nature, resilience, and a true team player.
