Are you passionate about making a positive difference in young people’s lives? We’re seeking a compassionate and committed Learning Support Assistant to join Fieldstone School, a rapidly growing specialist school supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is an opportunity to become part of a supportive, dynamic team where every day brings new challenges and rewards. Your work will help pupils overcome barriers, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work under the guidance of the Deputy Principal and class teachers to deliver person-centred learning programmes tailored to individual needs. Your role will involve one-to-one and small-group support, helping students engage with learning, develop life skills, and thrive in a structured, nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored learning programmes for pupils with SEMH needs
2. Provide general classroom support, helping to manage behaviour and engagement
3. Help create and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
4. Support pupils’ emotional and social development, encouraging independence and confidence
5. Contribute to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
6. Undertake clerical and administrative tasks to support teaching and learning activities
7. GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above)
8. Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
9. Experience supporting pupils with additional or SEMH needs
10. A team player with strong communication and organisational skills
11. Able to work independently and proactively in a busy school environment
12. Knowledge or training in relevant teaching and learning strategies (desirable)
13. If you’re ready to bring energy, empathy, and commitment to a rewarding role, we’d love to hear from you.
Fieldstone School is an independent day school, supporting the most vulnerable young people in society aged 5-16; those children who do not find it easy to fit into existing educational provision. This can be for many reasons, including a range of behavioural, emotional and educational challenges, exacerbated by being on the autistic spectrum, plus other difficulties such as sensory processing disorders, attachment disorders or those having faced trauma in their lives.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and young people. All applicants will be subject to social media checks and successful applicants to a fully enhanced DBS.
UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.
