Commissioning Marine Electrician

Our prestigious, manufacturing client within the Marine and Luxury Yacht industry, are currently seeking a Commissioning Marine Electrician to join their team.

The Commissioning Marine Electrician will support the Commissioning Team through all aspects of the Commissioning process.

This is a full time permanent position, based in Ipswich, Suffolk.

To travel, including overnight stays and overseas trips. 1 trip every 1 to 2 months approximate.

A full driving licence valid in the UK is required .

Qualifications

1. Electrical qualifications/certifications.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications

2. In-depth knowledge of marine electrics.
3. Audio Visual and Navigation systems.
4. Extensive and practical working knowledge with AC/DC systems.
5. Knowledge and understanding of different voltages (international variances).
6. Networking and system interfacing, desirable.
7. Excellent communication skills.
8. Organising and planning skills.
9. Extensive marine electrical experience
10. Proven experience of reading and interpreting electrical drawings.
11. Previous experience in the marine industry working with timber/GRP yachts.
12. Sailing experience, desirable.
13. French polishing experience, desirable.
14. Experience with cZone and Mastervolt installations, desirable.
15. High standard of finish to work
16. Thrives in a fast-paced environment working to tight deadlines
17. Comfortable working autonomously

Key Job Responsibilities

18. Assist Commissioning Skippers in identifying any electrical issues in new yachts, providing solutions and ensuring the issues are rectified
19. Rectify any electrical defects prior to handover of the yacht.
20. Ensure all work is carried out to the correct quality standards and follows best practice.
21. Support the Commissioning Team with other duties including, but not limited to boat cleaning, site maintenance, trial sails and yacht deliveries.
22. Co-ordinate with the Production and Design to ensure ongoing continuous improvement.
23. Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
24. Self development and knowledge base of area of expertise
25. To support Production and other areas within own area of expertise.
