HPC Solutions Lead
Qoro Quantum | UK & EU (Remote) | Full-Time | Reports to CEO
About Qoro
Qoro Quantum builds the software orchestration layer for the heterogeneous computing era. Our stack — Application Development, Compute Substrate, and Unified Simulation — gives developers a hardware-agnostic-but-aware platform for hybrid quantum-classical workloads. Our Algomorphic Heterogeneous Computing (AHC) thesis holds that practical quantum advantage comes from intelligent orchestration across QPU, HPC, and GPU backends, not just from any single hardware platform. We are backed by the UChicago Polsky Centre and are actively deploying with industrial partners across Europe and North America.
The Role
The HPC world is the natural entry point for quantum computing at scale. HPC centres have the infrastructure, the workloads, and the operational maturity — but the quantum-HPC integration layer is still being built. Qoro's stack sits directly in that gap, and this role is for someone who already knows that gap well.
We are looking for someone who has been operating at the intersection of quantum and HPC — who understands the friction points, the procurement dynamics, the scheduler constraints, and what it actually takes to get a hybrid quantum-classical workflow running in a production environment. You have seen the challenge from the inside, and you know how to talk to both HPC system architects and quantum algorithm developers with equal credibility.
This role owns Qoro's relationships and deployments with HPC centres, national labs, and HPC-native industrial users. You will drive adoption from initial deployment through to production-grade integration, and feed that operational experience directly back into the engineering team.
You will report to the CEO with a dotted line to the CTO.
What You'll Do
HPC Deployment and Integration
* Own the technical deployment of the Qoro stack within HPC environments, from proof-of-concept through to production.
* Work directly with HPC centre teams to integrate Qoro's orchestration layer into existing job schedulers, resource managers, and classical compute workflows.
* Develop and maintain reference architectures and integration guides for multi-node, batch-oriented, cloud-hosted, and hybrid quantum-classical deployments.
* Troubleshoot and resolve integration challenges across diverse HPC configurations — CPU clusters, GPU-accelerated nodes, and mixed-backend environments.
Partnership and Adoption
* Act as the primary point of contact for HPC centre partners and HPC-native enterprise accounts.
* Identify and qualify new HPC centre opportunities — national labs, supercomputing centres, and industrial HPC operators — and develop them from initial engagement to committed deployment.
* Work alongside the Principal Quantum Scientist, Industry on accounts where quantum and HPC capabilities are jointly relevant.
* Surface deployment blockers, configuration requirements, and integration feedback to the CTO and engineering team.
Technical Enablement and Visibility
* Produce benchmarks, case studies, and technical documentation that demonstrate Qoro's performance and integration capability in HPC settings.
* Represent Qoro at HPC-focused conferences, forums, and community events — SC, ISC, and relevant national HPC user groups.
* Support grant and public funding applications where HPC integration or infrastructure expertise is required.
What We're Looking For
Essential
* Significant hands-on experience in HPC infrastructure, operations, or solutions — whether at an HPC centre, a national lab, or an HPC-intensive enterprise environment.
* Direct experience working at the quantum-HPC intersection: deploying or integrating quantum workloads — circuit simulation, variational algorithms, hybrid workflows — within HPC environments. This is not a role for someone learning quantum; we need someone who has been in the room where these integrations happen.
* Working knowledge of HPC job schedulers (SLURM, PBS, LSF or similar), parallel computing frameworks (MPI, OpenMP), and multi-node cluster architectures.
* Sufficient quantum computing depth to engage credibly with quantum algorithm developers — understanding of circuit models, noise characteristics, shot-based execution, and the practicalities of QPU access within HPC workflows.
* Experience deploying and integrating software into production HPC environments, including working across teams with varying levels of technical abstraction.
* Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both HPC system administrators and quantum research scientists, as well as to commercial and executive stakeholders.
* Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-moving, early-stage environment.
* We need someone who leads without being asked, owns without being told, fixes without being prompted, and accelerates without waiting for permission.
Desirable
* Experience with GPU-accelerated computing and heterogeneous cluster management, including mixed QPU-CPU-GPU architectures.
* Familiarity with quantum middleware or orchestration tooling — job batching, backend selection, circuit packing, or similar.
* Prior experience in a commercial, solutions engineering, or pre-sales technical role within HPC, quantum computing, or scientific computing software.
* Existing network spanning both the HPC community (supercomputing centres, national labs) and the quantum computing ecosystem.
* Experience contributing to public sector or research funding applications, particularly in quantum or HPC-adjacent programmes.
Why This Role
Qoro's stack is already validated in production HPC environments and the roadmap points toward deeper integration across more centres and more workload types. This role shapes how that happens. You will have real technical ownership, close proximity to the engineering team, and a front-row seat to the point where quantum and classical HPC converge. As Qoro scales, this role has the natural trajectory to lead an HPC partnerships function.
Qoro Quantum is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
