Ffynone House School has a vacancy for a passionate and engaging Mathematics teacher to provide maternity cover and join our vibrant school community in the heart of Swansea. The successful candidate will teach Mathematics across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, including GCSE and A Level, and will contribute positively to the academic life of the school.This is potentially a full or part-time, temporary position, working alongside our excellent and experienced team. Hours are negotiable, depending on the expertise and availability of the successful applicant.

Key Responsibilities
1. Teach Mathematics effectively across KS3–KS5, including GCSE (Pearson iGCSE) and A Level (Pearson) where appropriate
2. Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that meet the needs of all learners
3. Set, mark and assess work in line with departmental and school policies
4. Monitor pupil progress and provide constructive feedback to support attainment
5. Prepare pupils for public examinations and internal assessments
6. Maintain high standards of classroom management and pupil behaviour
7. Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources
8. Support pupils’ academic and personal development in line with the school’s ethos
9. Participate in parents’ evenings, meetings, and relevant school events
10. Uphold and promote safeguarding and child protection policies at all times
Person Specification
Essential:
11. A good honours degree in Mathematics or a related subject
12. A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS or equivalent)
13. Experience of teaching Mathematics at KS3 and KS4
14. Ability to teach Mathematics at KS5 (A Level)
15. Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Mathematics
16. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
17. Commitment to high academic standards and pupil well-being
18. Ability to contribute to extracurricular activities or enrichment opportunities
