Apprentice Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technician

Job responsibilities
The post involves rotating through the pharmacy department and learning the roles of Pharmacy Technicians, including:
* Labelling, dispensing and final accuracy checking of prescriptions
* Receiving and issuing prescriptions
* Performing aseptic services
* Providing excellent customer care and maintaining confidentiality while dealing with patients and staff
* Ward-based duties, including medicines management and optimisation to ensure safe medicine use

Job summary
This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to join the pharmacy team, gain skills and knowledge to become a fully qualified Pharmacy Technician. The programme is two years fixed-term, combining on-site work at the hospital pharmacy with day-release online remote learning at college, leading to a Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice of Pharmacy Technicians. Upon completion, graduates can register as Pharmacy Technicians with the GPhC.
Qualifications required
* Four GCSE passes (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above, including Maths, English and one science subject (biology or chemistry)
* Good written and verbal communication skills
Working pattern
37.5 hours per week, 7‑day rota including late duties, bank holidays and weekends.
