An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Engineering Technician to join a well-established food manufacturing company. This hands-on role offers the chance to work as part of a small, multi-skilled engineering team, supporting the smooth and efficient running of a fast-paced production facility.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimising production equipment while working closely with Production teams to ensure machinery is correctly set up and operating at peak performance. The role also offers involvement in continuous improvement initiatives, preventative maintenance programmes, and the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
Carry out both planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
Support production colleagues to optimise line setup, efficiency, and output.
Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and plant.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure effective shift handovers.
Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
Work with the department manager to manage spare parts inventory.
Ensure all work complies with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
About You Essential:
Minimum of 3 years’ engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
