Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Head Chef with food production, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities.
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to menu specifications.
* Help manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
* Collaborate with team members to create new menu items and improve existing recipes.
* Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained and operated safely.
* Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen procedures.
Experience
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
* Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
* Experience in team management, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse group of individuals.
* Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen environment.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
