We’re supporting a leading manufacturing business in Havant who are looking to recruit a Senior Planner to join their Planning team.
What’s the role all about?
As a Senior Planner, you’ll play a key role in coordinating production planning activities across multiple manufacturing areas, ensuring customer demand, production capacity and material availability are aligned.
This is a fast-paced role where you’ll work cross-functionally with Operations, Procurement, Logistics and Sales to ensure production plans are delivered effectively and customer expectations are met.
Key responsibilities
Create and maintain weekly production schedules across multiple manufacturing areas
Monitor capacity and highlight risks or constraints to the operations team
Review order books, inventory levels and upcoming production requirements
Coordinate with Procurement and Operations to ensure materials and production plans align
Manage subcontractor demand and delivery schedules
Monitor subcontractor performance and resolve delivery or capacity issues
Manage production orders to support manufacturing plans
Review late orders and upcoming demand to minimise delays
Drive improvements to ensure customer delivery dates are achieved
Collaborate closely with Operations, Procurement, Logistics and Sales teams
Support continuous improvement of production planning systems and processes
Ensure MRP system accuracy and data integrity
What you’ll need
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
Experience within a Production Planning or Manufacturing Planning role
Background within a manufacturing environment
Experience using MRP / ERP systems
Good understanding of production scheduling and capacity planning
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to prioritise workloads and work to deadlines
Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
Desirable
Intermediate Excel skills
Experience working with subcontract manufacturers or supply chain coordination
Exposure to continuous improvement or process optimisation projects
