About The Role

Be part of this ‘once in a generation’ project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2 Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable load low-carbon electricity.

The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies: Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O’Rourke.

We are more than just an alliance, we are bringing together a single delivery organisation with years of learning and experience from other major complex infrastructure programmes worldwide.

What you'll be doing

The role is to provide leadership and mange a section/package of the works, predominantly in the Enabling Works scope, part of the overarching Civils Programme of SZC.

The Package Manager will support the development of the strategy for delivering the Enabling Works scope safely and to cost, schedule and quality within the agreed constraints.

Includes management of other team members and suppliers, and inputting into and monitoring programme, preconstruction activities and site deliverables, whilst recognising the impacts of the programme on the wider Project and interfacing packages.

The scope of the Enabling Works is the design, planning, procurement and execution of some of the early SZC civils scope including – SSSI Crossing, ground improvements, dewatering, diaphragm walls, sea defence, marine bulk import facility (MBIF), beach landing facility (BLF) and construction drainage outfall.

This post has the responsibility to ensure delivery or part-delivery of the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning activities for the life cycle of the contract or work package in accordance with the overall Project schedule.

* Track record of delivering projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.

Qualifications & Experience

* Engineering design, contract, and field execution strategies for project delivery,
* Procurement and management of contracts,
* Control of costs; risk; schedule and change
* Close out of commercial claims and the associated negotiations.
* Experience of successfully engaging groups of stakeholders
* Able to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation.
* Experience of managing sub-contractors, consultants and other advisors throughout large and complex construction projects, preferably in a regulated environment and including experience of NEC contracts.
* Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
