*Job Summary*
We are seeking a reliable and professional HGV Class 1 Driver for ad hoc assignments. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating Class 1 vehicles. Goods are fork lifted on and off. No handballing required.
This role offers flexibility for drivers with experience in commercial driving and delivery operations. The ideal applicant will demonstrate excellent driving skills, a strong safety record, and the ability to adapt to different delivery schedules.
*Responsibilities*
* Safely operate HGV Class 1 lorries in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies
* Conduct pre-journey checks on the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with legal requirements
* Deliver goods to designated locations efficiently and punctually, adhering to delivery schedules
* Secure loads properly
* Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and vehicle logs
* Maintain communication with the dispatch team regarding delivery progress or any issues encountered during journeys
* Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure personal safety and that of others on the road and at delivery sites
*Requirements*
* Valid HGV Class 1 licence (C+E entitlement) with a clean driving record
* Min 1 year experience required
* Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed lorries and delivery routes
* Knowledge of road regulations and safe driving practices within the UK
* Experience in handling flatbed loads securely during transit
* Good organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively on ad hoc schedules
* Flexibility to undertake deliveries at short notice across various locations
* Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
