Proposals Engineer role in the water industry working in Dewsbury paying up to £50,000 annually (plus other benefits!)
This is primarily an office-based role in Dewsbury, with occasional site visits. You’ll be part of an experienced engineering and proposals team, playing a key role in securing projects and supporting the company’s continued growth in the water sector. This role is ideally suited to a commercially aware engineer with strong experience in proposals, estimating, and tendering within the water or wastewater industry.

* £45,000 - £50,000 per annum (DOE)

Key Responsibilities of the Proposals Engineer
* Prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals for water and wastewater treatment projects
* Interpret client specifications, scopes of work, and tender documentation
* Produce accurate cost estimates including materials, labour, and subcontract services
* Develop material take-offs and pricing schedules
* Review and interpret P&IDs, GA drawings, and 2D/3D models
* Liaise with internal departments including Design, Procurement, Fabrication, and Quality
* Support bid strategy, risk assessment, and value engineering activities
* Maintain accurate documentation including quotations, tender files, and client correspondence
* Attend client meetings and carry out site visits/surveys where required
Key Requirements of the Proposals Engineer
* Proven experience in a Proposals / Estimating / Tendering role within the water or wastewater sector
* Strong understanding of water treatment equipment and processes
* Experience preparing detailed costings and technical submissions
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (P&IDs, 2D & 3D)
* Commercial awareness with strong attention to detail
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Experience working within EPC / EPCM environments (desirable)
* Background in chemical or process industries (advantageous)
