We’re Europe’s leading design, engineering, environment and regulatory consultancy and we’re now recruiting for a talented and motivated Principal Consultant to join our Asset Management Business Unit working on Technical Advisory frameworks. The role can be worked flexibly, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
Office based working will be at one of our UK offices and will also include occasional travel to client sites in Northern Ireland.

What does the role involve?
As a Principal Consultant you will work alongside industry leaders, becoming an integral part of our Asset Management team and an important point of contact for our clients.
You’ll develop and maintain relationships with key clients and partners through active client engagement and building strong relationships by ensuring excellent delivery and expert knowledge.
You’ll take responsibility for the effective and consistent delivery of projects using the project management framework, ensuring technical accuracy of all work completed within agreed timelines and budgets.
You’ll provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and assist in the mentoring and development if team members where possible.
You will analyse the performance of wastewater operations and assess the quality of Asset Management plans and strategies.
To be successful in this role you’ll possess:
1. Extensive experience in the Asset Management/Water industry working for a consultancy with a thorough understanding of framework arrangements and delivery.
2. Institute of Asset Management (IAM) qualification and membership.
3. A Chartered Professional qualification and membership of IChemE, ICE, IMechE or similar with expertise in water and wastewater process engineering and maintenance.
4. Client relationship skills to be able to work with the rest of the team to build on existing strong relationships.
5. Experience of relevant tender/bidding processes with the ability to understand the brief and demonstrate our professional capability.
6. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to adapt your style to suit difference audiences.
7. Demonstrable experience of operating and influencing at a senior level.
8. Experience of delivering across a multi-site organisation.
9. Demonstratable experience of excellent quality management and project controls for the accurate recording of financial and technical decisions at the core of this role.
10. Experience of publishing reports containing detailed technical analysis on the performance of water and wastewater process operations.
