A good VDA is the difference between a job that's costed right first time and one that bleeds money in supplements and comebacks all week. If that's you, you already know your eye is worth more than most places pay for it.
I'm Roland 25+ years on the tools before I started placing people, so I'll be straight with you and I won't put you forward for a workshop that doesn't fit.
This role's come up through expansion at a Coventry accident repair centre that's been running properly since 1990 British Standard approved, manufacturer approved across 12+ marques including Lotus, Jaguar, BMW and Volvo. They invest in training and kit, so you'd be assessing for a shop that actually repairs to standard, not one cutting corners behind you. I know who they are happy to tell you on a confidential call.
The work: Assess damage, scope the repair, and cost it accurately first time. Working alongside a manufacturer-approved repair team where the quality's there to back your estimates up.
What they're after: NVQ Level 3 / ATA (training available if you're close), experience on Audatex or GT Motive preferred, and a full UK licence.
What you get: Up to £50K OTE with bonus, 28 days holiday plus your birthday off, manufacturer training and a real progression path, flexible hours with overtime if you want it, plus company incentives and local sporting-event perks.
If you're a VDA who's good and quietly fed up, have a confidential look. Nothing goes anywhere near your current employer this stays between us until you decide otherwise.
