An experienced Building Surveyor is required to join our client, a Property Insurance Claims Specialist with extensive industry experience in Repair and Reinstatement Services, supporting businesses including Insurers, Managing General Agents, Loss Adjusters, Solicitors, and Third Party Administrators. Their team comprises Surveyors, Engineers, and Claims Technicians who proactively manage the lifecycle of claims for a seamless claims journey.
The role is primarily desk-based with occasional travel, approximately 3-4 site visits per month across the Southern Region.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical assistance with household and third-party damage claims, including tenders.
* Take ownership and collaborate closely with the Claims Team.
* Determine and recommend site visits, and arrange for network contractor appointments or cash settlement negotiations.
* Manage the tender process.
* Review property damage via video footage, images, quotes, and other sources to prepare reports.
* Review site reports and schedules.
* Prepare reports and updates for clients, including decisions and recommendations.
* Negotiate cash settlements.
* Control and reconcile costs for clients.
* Conduct desk-based audits of contractor performance.
About You
* Experience in Surveying within the Insurance Claims Sector is essential.
* Deep knowledge of building pathology, property repair works, and associated costs.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to manage projects effectively.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
* Strong organizational skills and self-management.
* Qualifications in Surveying, Buildings, or Industry Insurance are desirable but not mandatory.
* Experience in site visits is advantageous.
* Valid UK driving license is required.

* Salary up to approximately £45,000 per annum.
* Car allowance of £4,500 per year or higher mileage rate if using own vehicle.
