Network Engineer - Cambridgeshire
The L2 Network Engineer will cover management, maintenance and support of network infrastructure, perimeter security systems and network management platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting network and security infrastructure
* Troubleshooting complex network issues, identifying network bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to ensure optimal network performance
* Optimizing network infrastructure to ensure maximum performance and scalability
* Maintain accurate network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and inventory records
* Prepare regular reports on network performance, availability, and security
* Day‑to‑day patching, maintenance and operation of the above in secure environments
* Continual improvement of the systems based on changing demands
* Liaise with various departments within the business
* Co‑ordinate with 3rd‑party suppliers and partners to support, maintain and implement these systems
Qualifications
Essential
* Experience of enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN management
* Experience of Cisco, HPE, Aruba
* Experience of firewall technologies, particularly Fortinet
* Experience of network monitoring, troubleshooting and management tools
Desirable
* Cisco certification
* Fortinet certification
* Aruba certification
Additional Information
* You will be required to work fully on‑site Monday to Friday
* This role requires participation in 24/7 on‑call, which operates on a rotational basis
* Must have the right to live and work in the UK
* Due to our location, access to own transport is essential
* Must meet Security Clearance requirements if this is a requirement of the role and any offer would be conditional upon the successful candidate passing BPSS which includes a criminal record check
