Overview
We are looking to recruit a full-time Band 8a Clinical Psychologist to one of Hywel Dda University Health Board's busy S-CAMHS locality teams in Pembrokeshire. The post is based in the Preseli Centre, Withybush General Hospital, Haverfordwest. Hywel Dda has four S-CAMHS MDTs, with a clinical psychologist based in each.
Locality teams link with specialised services and with colleagues in primary care. All psychologists in S-CAMHS sit within a wider Psychology Department that includes Perinatal Mental Health, Early Intervention for Psychosis and the Neurodevelopmental Team, creating a diverse and supportive psychology workforce with strong links.
Responsibilities
* Provide Psychology within the multi-disciplinary team, including supervision of Assistant Psychologists and Trainee Clinical Psychologists.
* Be part of a friendly multi-disciplinary team that values Psychology colleagues.
* Carry clinical duties including completing Choice, Partnership and Specific work within the framework of the Mental Health Measure (2010).
* Encourage and participate in special interests, new service developments and training where possible.
* Maintain strong links with specialised services within S-CAMHS (e.g., DBT Service, Eating Disorders Service) and with the South Wales D Clin Psy Clinical Psychology training course.
Qualifications and Skills
* Band 8a Clinical Psychologist (full-time).
* Experience within a multi-disciplinary mental health setting.
* Desirable: ability to speak Welsh; English and/or Welsh speakers are welcome to apply.
* Good communication and leadership skills, including supervision of junior psychology staff.
Location and Services
The locality team serves the Pembrokeshire area and is based at Withybush General Hospital, Haverfordwest. The Health Board provides NHS services across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and bordering counties, with involvement across primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services. There are strong links with local authorities and third-sector partners.
