Job Overview:
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Driver's Mate to join our transportation team. The Driver's Mate will work alongside the driver to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of goods to customers. This role involves assisting with loading and unloading cargo, navigating to delivery locations, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic, good communication skills, and a positive attitude.
We offer a white-glove service to customers, which means upon delivery - you just go into their home and place the order wherever the customer wants it to be.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist the driver with the safe and efficient loading and unloading of goods onto and off delivery vehicles.

Help secure cargo to ensure that items are safely transported without risk of damage.
*
Navigate with the driver to delivery locations, following the most efficient routes.

Ensure that deliveries are made on time, meeting customer expectations.
*
Provide excellent customer service, including unloading and delivering goods to customers' requested locations.
*
Assist with checking delivery schedules, verifying the items being delivered, and ensuring accuracy.

Communicate with the driver and warehouse staff to coordinate timely deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise.

Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
*
Help with inventory control by verifying the number and condition of items during loading and unloading.
*
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and traffic regulations during the delivery process.
*
Handle paperwork associated with deliveries, such as delivery notes or invoices, and ensure they are signed as needed.

Assist with other tasks as required by the driver or warehouse team.
Qualifications:
*
Previous experience in delivery or warehouse roles is an advantage but not required.
*
Ability to lift and carry heavy items and assist with loading and unloading goods.
*
Strong communication and customer service skills.
*
A positive and can-do attitude, with the ability to work as part of a team.
*
Good time management skills and the ability to meet delivery deadlines.
*
Valid driver's license is a plus (if applicable to the role).
*
Ability to work in various weather conditions and on the road for extended periods.
Physical Demands:

Ability to lift and carry heavy items frequently.

Ability to bend, squat, and stand for long periods.
*
Ability to perform physical tasks, including loading/unloading, during the course of daily work.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
