Senior Technical Manager
£90,000-£95,000 + car + benefits package (+working away allowance if applicable)
Location: Shrewsbury
We’re looking for a highly experienced Senior Technical Manager, preferable with a background in Healthcare environments, to join a leading technical team delivering complex engineering solutions across major projects. This senior-level position is based in Shrewsbury, supporting critical pre-construction phases and driving technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
The Role:
As a key figure within the technical management team, you will lead the setup and coordination of design and engineering for projects valued between £5-50M (MEP). Your primary focus will be de-risking projects early, ensuring design clarity, and maintaining compliance with safety and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead technical strategy and design delivery during pre-construction.
Collaborate with bid, commercial, and operational teams, as well as external stakeholders.
Identify and manage technical risks to ensure project efficiency and compliance.
Ensure coordination with consultants, supply chain, and manufacturers.
Uphold responsibilities under CDM and the Building Safety Act.
Provide leadership and mentorship to technical staff.
You Will Bring:
BEng or MEng/MSc in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
Chartered or Incorporated status (or working towards it) with a recognised institution (CIBSE, IET, IMechE).
Broad experience in building services, ideally across healthcare, leisure, commercial, and MOD/MOJ sectors.
Proven ability to manage projects with significant MEP value.
Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
