Role
Reporting into the Head of Strategic Sourcing, you'll be a key member of the senior leadership team within Procurement. You'll be responsible for the approach and methodology for SNG's procurement activity, demonstrating where procurement can add measurable value and identifying solutions which support the delivery of SNG's corporate goals. This is a hands-on role, with responsibilities including:
* Accountability for strategic spend categories within Property Services and Housing Asset Management, alongside line managing category managers.
* Supporting complex procurement projects across all spend areas, ensuring alignment with business needs and procurement strategy.
* Leading supplier engagement and sourcing activities end-to-end, including defining requirements, sourcing, tender analysis, negotiation, and supplier performance management.
* Contributing to strategic workstreams like data integrity and reporting to maximize data-driven decision making.
* Line management of the procurement team in partnership with another Senior Procurement Manager, supporting personal development.
What we need from you
You should have previous experience in procurement, with significant expertise in category management, leading supplier engagement and sourcing activities to drive value for money. Experience in property services or housing asset management is beneficial but not essential. You also need:
* Flexibility and range in sourcing techniques.
* Experience managing multiple projects.
* Excellent written and communication skills.
* Ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong negotiation skills.
* Attention to detail and experience in contract drafting.
* Leadership skills and a desire to coach and develop a small team.
* Experience working under and advising on PCR 2015 regulations and knowledge of procurement regulations.
