Job Description
* Designs wiring systems for one or more projects
* Is responsible for application of product design
* Performs one or several of the following design elements:
o External and internal Change Management processes
o 2-D Harness routing
o Design Release Engineering
o Determining whether a design solution is user-friendly, cost-effective and environmentally friendly
o Evaluating design solutions against industry standards and regulations
o Evaluate DVP impact on the product and establish solutions
o Drawing release and BOM accuracy
o Module split of 2D designs
o Module logistic code definition
o Resident Design Engineering
o Evaluation of customer systems
o Schematic Design
o Wire Dimensioning
o Regular communication with customer, engineers and our manufacturing plants
o Participate to all engineering activities related with the product (FMET, DFMEA, DMU, Design for Manufacturing, etc…)
o Regular presence in reviews related with the customer development strategy
o Circuits analysis
o VAVE proposals
o Is responsible for technical content for documentation according to customer specification
Qualifications and Experience
* Ideally educated to HNC/degree level, or equivalent, in an Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering discipline
* Knowledge of VW Systems and specific Bentley Systems
* Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and circuits
* Have a sound understanding of the harness design and manufacturing processes
* Experience working in a Customer interface role
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (including presentation, technical communication and negotiation skills)
* Ability to comply with current relevant legal and internal defined standards, as well as safety and environmental regulations
* Ability to report risks, opportunities and to comply with deadlines
* Prepared to travel UK and overseas (occasionally)
