Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Nottingham.
Purpose of Job
To perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive works on client Heating & Air-Conditioning Systems according to service levels.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure routine maintenance of Heating (Steam) & Air-conditioning plant meets and exceeds expectations and service level agreements.
* Maintain Evaporative Cooling Systems and Domestic water systems in compliance with L8 standards.
* Promptly address plant faults and defects to maintain operational order.
* Perform maintenance and reactive works on other site plant as required.
* Ensure availability of suitable spares for maintenance tasks.
* Change filters and belts on AHUs.
* Carry out pipe repairs and upgrades.
* Perform safe isolation procedures and interpret site drawings.
* Maintain comprehensive maintenance records using Frontline task sheets.
* Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks.
* Develop good working relationships with CBRE Managed Services staff and clients.
* Promote a safe and healthy working environment, complying with all policies and procedures.
* Present a professional image and deliver excellent customer service.
* Maintain professional and technical skills through ongoing development.
Accountabilities
* Report to Contract Supervisor and Area Manager.
* No direct staff reporting or budget responsibility.
Person Specification
Education
* Good basic education, proficient in written and spoken English, basic Mathematics skills.
Training
* Level 3 qualification in mechanical services maintenance.
* Basic skills in building management systems are advantageous.
* Formal health and safety training (desirable).
* Basic computer skills.
Experience
* Experience maintaining Pumps, Motors, and Valves.
* Experience operating Cooling Towers.
* Understanding of health and safety obligations in maintenance.
* Experience working on client sites (desirable).
* Certification in Maintenance and Operation of Evaporative Cooling Systems (desirable).
Aptitudes
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Valid driving license.
Character
* Committed to excellent customer service.
* Calm, able to work under pressure.
* Sound decision-making skills.
* Physically fit to carry tools and components up to 20kg.
* Ability to work at heights and on roofs, including use of vertical access equipment.
* Team player, able to work with diverse staff and clients.
Circumstances
Must be able to attend the site within one hour for out-of-hours standby and call-outs.
