Mental Health Nurse at Surehaven Glasgow
Nurse at Surehaven Glasgow - £20.05- £22.48 per hour depending on experience
We are seeking a friendly, compassionate and caring nurse to join our team at Surehaven Glasgow, an Independent Low Secure Hospital caring for patients with severe and enduring mental illness. The unit is 21 beds with all ensuite rooms, two gender‑specific wards, and activity rooms to support therapeutic programmes.
As a Nurse your key duties include:
* Ensure the highest possible standards of care, assessing residents’ needs and wishes, and developing services to enhance their quality of life
* Champion appropriate independence and personal choice; develop, review and update care plans to meet residents’ physical, social and psychological needs
* Oversee all aspects of medicine management on your shift – ensuring medicines are appropriately received, stored and administered in accordance with company policy and legislation
* Build the positive reputation of the business; liaise professionally with visitors and external stakeholders
* Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and best‑practice guidelines – identify, investigate and resolve risks proactively
* Support, guide, teach and mentor others in line with the NMC Code, following its guidance at all times

* Ability to lead a team, analyse problems and propose solutions or improvements
* Effective communication and ability to develop professional relationships
* Understanding and effective use of IT and communication systems required for the role
* Respect for the values, views and needs of others
* Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload
* Experience of delivering nursing care within elderly health care sector
* Experience of participating in quality and clinical governance programmes

Working Hours: 37.62 hours per week
Shift Pattern: mix of day and night shifts (08:00‑20:00 and 19:45‑08:15), including alternative weekends
