We are looking for a Plumber to join our Repairs and Maintenance team.

The job in a nutshell

You will work within our customers’ homes to diagnose and carry out minor and major plumbing repairs, including ordering materials. Working to a high standard and aiming to achieve first time fixes where possible. You'll be required to carry out all other minor building works related to the trade.

Duties and responsibilities

* Carry out all repairs, maintenance and application tasks, both internal and external, related to the plumbing trade function
* Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with the relevant Risk Assessments, Legislation and best practice, complete all necessary documentation, and promptly return completed documentation to the team leader
* Deliver service in accordance with the company’s Repairs and Maintenance Operating Standards
* Provide the service to the customer in line with the company’s Customer Standards and Quality Standards
* Be responsible for compliance with Health & Safety Legislation, the company Health & Safety management system, and for the safety of yourself, your colleagues, customers and the public
* Ensure the maintenance and security of plant machinery and vehicles as and when required.

The above list is not an exhaustive list of the duties required. You will be required to undertake any other reasonable duties in line with the purpose and grading of the role. Where other duties are required from a different trade in addition to the above, and where appropriate training has been completed and competency assessed, an appropriate allowance may be paid.

What you’ll bring to the team/role

Skills, knowledge and experience

* Competent in the use of hand/power tools
* An effective communicator with a professionalattitude
* Able to work unsupervised and on one's own initiative
* Able to recognise problems and make decisions
* Competent with the use of information technology, i.e. PDA or tablet device
* Knowledge of the relevant Plumbing legislation
* In depth knowledge of repairs and maintenance of buildings in relation to plumbing works
* Experience of working at heights and knowledge of safety requirements
* Proven experience in the relevant trade
* Experience of working in occupied properties.

Qualifications

* Appropriate NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
* Full driving licence (if you have a disability, we will explore reasonable adjustments with you).

It’s a bonus if you are also able to undertake basic tasks in additional trades and hold an appropriate NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
