Technical Estimator – Manufacturing / Engineering
£30-40k dependent on experience
7am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday

Are you a detail-driven estimator with a strong technical understanding of manufacturing or engineering processes?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking manufacturer, producing bespoke engineered products for clients across multiple sectors.
Working closely with the sales, design, and production teams, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate and competitive quotations, supporting commercial growth while maintaining quality and profitability.
The role:
You’ll take ownership of the estimating process, analysing drawings, technical data, and client specifications to prepare accurate costings for bespoke manufactured products.
You’ll liaise with suppliers to source materials and components, balancing cost efficiency with quality, and support the wider business with technical insight during the tendering and order process.
Key responsibilities:
Review customer drawings and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates
Liaise with internal design and production teams to ensure manufacturing feasibility
Source and compare supplier quotations for materials and subcontracted services
Prepare formal quotations and cost breakdowns in line with business pricing strategy
Support the sales team with technical input during tender stages and client discussions
Analyse historic data to improve estimating accuracy and pricing consistency
Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating tools, templates, and processes
About you:
Background in engineering, manufacturing, or fabrication, ideally with a mechanical bias
Previous experience in an estimating, costing, or technical sales support role
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications (AutoCAD/SolidWorks understanding beneficial)
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
Excellent communication and organisational skills with a proactive approach
This role would suit someone from an estimating or production engineering background who enjoys combining technical knowledge with commercial responsibility.
