We’re looking for a Lecturer in Hair to join Peterborough College on a fixed-term maternity cover basis. You will be working full time (37 hours per week). This is a great opportunity to bring your industry knowledge into the classroom and support learners to develop their confidence, technical ability and career ambitions.
About the Role
You’ll deliver engaging teaching and assessment across Hair and Barbering programmes from Level 1 to Level 3. Alongside planning and delivering lessons, you’ll support students to achieve their full potential by setting clear targets, monitoring progress and adapting your approach to meet individual needs.
You’ll also contribute to course development, support student recruitment activities, and play an active role in maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
What We're Looking For
We’re looking for someone with strong industry experience in hairdressing or barbering who is passionate about developing others and helping learners succeed. You’ll be confident in the classroom (or ready to step into teaching), organised in your approach, and able to build positive relationships with students.
Essential Qualifications
* Industry experience in hairdressing and/or barbering
* A relevant qualification at Level 3 or above
* Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)
* Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage learners
