Job Description
The role
This is a fixed-term position, from October to March, supporting a range of exciting events at Edinburgh Zoo.
The main responsibilities include developing and organising a diverse portfolio of events, administering engaging commercial experiences, and ensuring they align with RZSS's vision and mission.
Key responsibilities:
* Support and manage Edinburgh Zoo's commercial events and experience programmes, including seasonal events like Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine's Day.
* Lead the RZSS Keeper Experience programme alongside other Events and Experiences Coordinators.
* Provide excellent customer service, ensuring visitors receive knowledgeable and positive interactions.
* Develop efficient booking systems to ensure a seamless visitor experience, complying with GDPR.
* Manage sales for keeper experiences, including cash handling and liaising with finance.
* Collaborate with various teams to enhance visitor experiences and promote events, conveying conservation messages.
* Monitor and evaluate visitor feedback and event performance, including budget management.
* Work with the Events & Experiences Manager to develop innovative commercial events, adapting to seasonal and visitor profile changes.
* Coordinate with other RZSS sites like Highland Wildlife Park to ensure consistency in booking procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Higher Grade achievement (including English and Mathematics) or equivalent.
* Numerical reasoning skills and attention to detail.
* Customer engagement skills, including upselling products.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT systems.
* Assertive communication skills.
* Experience in event coordination and customer service.
* Ability to work independently with good organisational skills.
Benefits:
* Salary between £24,000 and £25,000 per annum, based on experience.
