The Role:
Working for this leading university, you will play the lead managerial role in academic planning for the Law School. Working closely with the Associate Dean (Education) and other senior colleagues you will oversee the workload allocation process to ensure fairness, transparency, and alignment with institutional goals. The role encompasses strategic input into course planning, staffing models, and resource allocation to support high-quality teaching and student experience. This is a complex and large-scale process, with indicatively 80+ academic staff, over 100 courses (across undergraduate and postgraduate teaching) as well as a large number of Guest Teachers and Graduate Teaching Assistants each year.
A key focus of the role is on modelling, data analysis, and reporting to monitor workloads, teaching quality, and resource efficiency, and providing advice and insight to inform academic decision-making. The postholder has ownership of the end-to-end recruitment and management of Guest Teachers and Graduate Teaching Assistants, ensuring timely contracts, accurate payments, smooth onboarding and effective budget control.
